  • Shane Meteyard
    Shane Meteyard

    Managing Director

    As owner and Managing Director of Milray Contracting, Shane has a very hands on approach with the day to day running of the business. When needed, Shane steps into the project manager roll with ease.

    Shane started the company after a mining company asked him to do earthworks for their drill pads on Shane’s cattle property. He then expanded doing work for Charters Towers Regional Council and following an increase in mining and other construction works the business has steadily grown to meet demand.

    Peter Bell

    Operations Manager

    Peter has over 35 years of road, mining, rail, port and civil construction experience working with Australia’s largest construction companies. With a strong safety, environment and quality focus, Peter prides himself in the development of high performance teams and the innovative delivery of projects on time and within client budgets.
    He leads the operational aspect of Milray Contracting and all projects and maintenance activities report to him.

    Alex Haynes

    Maintenance Manager

    Alex joined the company shortly after completing his apprenticeship in heavy diesel fitting for a major north QLD mining and infrastructure company. Working his way from being a field service fitter to the position of Maintenance Manager he has proven extremely capable in ensuring preventative and breakdown maintenance ensuring maximum availability of Milray’s wide ranging earthmoving fleet and equipment some of which work 24/7.
  • Simon Appleyard
    Simon Appleyard

    Supervisor

    With 20 years’ experience in the civil and mining industries as an operator, leading hand, supervisor and Company Manager, Simon has the experience and capacity to manage works and client bases from the private sector to the mining industry. Simons experience with working in remote environments has given him the knowledge to improve safety as he has the knowledge base of various state requirements, cost and quality of work.

    Ross Decastre

    Supervisor

    Ross is an experienced supervisor who has 15 years of experience in the civil and mining industries as a plant operator, leading hand and supervisor.

    Ross has extensive experience on TMR and Council projects and in the mining sector working his way through the ranks from plant operator to supervisor. He has vast experience operating a large number of machines on varying types of jobs. His knowledge base and experience working in the private sector and local government on various TMR and Council projects has helped him to become a versatile supervisor capable of working closely within budgets and timeframes.
